Vintage gold jewellery on show in Kuala LumpurThursday, 29th May 2008 (1220 views) Gold jewellery features in a selection of vintage pieces by Italian design house Bulgari that has gone on display at its newly-opened boutique in Kuala Lumpur, according to reports.The Star reports that among the items on show are a necklace and pair of earrings originally designed in the 1960s for the Shah of Iran that were worn by actress Keira Knightley at the 2006 Oscars ceremony. There is also an "eye-catching" Melone evening clutch in 18ct gold. The oval-shaped object is encrusted with coins and diamonds, the newspaper says. It adds that the interior of the piece uses a hinged mirror to reflect the reverse side of the coin faces. Other items in the 3,333 sq ft store include Bulgari's "rare and exotic" signature snake bracelet-watch. The item comes in yellow gold and it also features green enamel and diamonds. Bulgari's store is a new retail concept for the company, set out over two floors with one dedicated to accessories and a separate space for jewellery and watches. Bulgari opened its first store in Rome in 1884. It now has outlets in Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Dubai.
