Results released for Independence propertyMonday, 30th June 2008 (477 views) General Metals Corporation has released further results from its Independence property in the Battle Mountain mining district of Nevada.A particular hole produced a result of 0.619 ounces per ton of gold equivalent across 35 feet. Within that distance was a result of 0.311 ounces per ton of gold across five feet. The average grade along the 35-foot intercept is 0.183 ounces per ton of gold equivalent. General Metals said the high grade mineralisation found in the more northern holes at the site "could dramatically enhance economic potential in the northern area of the property where the mineralised zone has historically been thought to be shallower than on the southern area". Other hole results include 0.062 ounces per ton of gold across 35 feet, 0.035 ounces per ton of gold across 40 feet and 0.023 ounces per ton of gold across 35 feet. In 2007 the mining company completed 10,475 feet of drilling across 32 holes at the Independent site. A report from the area produced a deep target production estimate of 1.4 million to two million ounces of gold.
