Jewellery stores 'gives away gold'Monday, 21st July 2008 (852 views) An Indian company has announced it is to give away free gold in a new advertising scheme, reports fibre2fashion.com.The offer from Tanishq will give customers who buy 15 grams or more of plain gold jewellery a 0.5-gram gold coin for free. Fibre2fashion said it is a "unique campaign aimed at providing more value to customers". Customers will have the choice from among a wide selection which includes the Everdays range or jewellery from the Jodhaa Akbar collection. Tanishq is the only jeweller in India which offers 22 and 18 karat gold jewellery in over 5,000 western, traditional or fusion designs, reports fibre2fashion. With 111 boutiques in 75 cities across the country, Tanishq is India's largest jewellery chain. In May this year, it announced it was to increase the number of stores in India to 130 in 2008. In addition, the company announced it was going to open pilot shops in Chicago and New Jersey.
