Another dredge bought by Sierra Gold

Wednesday, 23rd July 2008 (495 views)

Sierra Gold has announced it is to expand its gold operation after the purchase of an eight-inch dredge.

The purchase will enable to company to start river dredging on the Sewa river.

Currently the dredge is in Sierra Leone and will be transported to the Sewa river in time for operations to begin in three to four weeks time.

Preliminary testing in the river has made the company feel encouraged that substantial amounts of gold will be found.

Sierra Gold also has a dredge working on the Pampana river.

Previous calculations for the areas reported more than 936,000 ounces of gold.

Doug Evans, chief executive officer of Sierra Gold, said: "We are excited about the addition of a substantial piece of equipment, which will allow us to expand to the Sewa river and to be able to mine throughout the year."

Sierra Gold is a company from Nevada and has a two year exploration licence from the country's government for the Pampana river property.
