Gold enthusiasts 'may want to visit specialist shop in Portsmouth'

Friday, 25th July 2008 (648 views)

A shop specialising in gold and silver which opened in Massachussetts in April is well worth a visit, according to Seacoastonline.

The website claims Allan and Paweena Pechner are extremely serious about their joint-venture in Portsmouth and it states "it shows".

Mr Pechner first became interested in precious metals when his grandfather introduced him to coin collecting as a child.

The shop stocks a variety of gold and silver including pre-1933 gold coins, rare coins, gold and silver bullion, coin supplies, proof sets and coins from around the world.

Mrs Pechner is from Thailand and she likes her heritage to be reflected in the items sold in the shop.

Speaking to Seacoastonline, she said: "I like to showcase some special Thailand things, like our special Thai bags and jewellery."

Meanwhile, the Indo-Asian News Service has reported there is a growing craze for lightweight gold following a decade-long fall from favour.
