Gold watches on auction for Agassi charityWednesday, 27th August 2008 (789 views) In order to raise money for the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation, Longines has announced the creation of three limited-edition watches which will each go under the hammer later this month, reports the National Jeweler Network.In addition, the Swiss watchmaker has created the Longines Elegance Scholarship Fund which will be available to pupils at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas. Going up at auction will be the $27,000 (£14,628) Longines Andre Agassi Retrograde Grand Slam for Children timepiece is an 18-karat rose gold bracelet with a see-through smoked back that features the Longines foundation's logo. The Longines Andre Agassi Grand Slam Master Moon Phases comes in an 18-karat rose gold case with a golden eight inside and the final watch is the Andre Agassi Limited Edition Grand Vitesse 888. Along with the tennis star, Longines also has ties with celebrities in the world of gymnastics, alpine skiing, equestrian sports and film and television personalities.
