West Timmins discovers multiple zones of high-grade goldMonday, 22nd September 2008 (325 views) West Timmins Mining has announced that it has intersected "multiple broad zones" of high-grade gold at the Thorne property in Ontario.Significant results included 7.07 g/t gold across 2.6 metres, 1.01 g/t gold across 12.60 metres and 7.19 g/t gold across two metres. A total of five parallel trends of gold mineralisation, running from east to west, were drilled into and tested in recent work on the site. A new area was also discovered south of previous exploration. President Darin Wagner commented: "The expanding West Zone, Sandhill, Pond and newly discovered South Marsh Zones all have potential to add to the gold resources contained on the Thorne Property." Meanwhile, a new drill programme has commenced at the Ti-pa-haa-kaa-ning project in north-west Ontario in a joint venture between Lake Shore Gold and Northern Superior Resources. A geophysical survey at the location is expected to define targets for future gold exploration.
