Miranda Gold has revealed that it has discovered a wide section of anomalous gold mineralisation at the Coal Canyon project in Nevada.

Two new holes were completed to add to a previous drilling campaign carried out by Miranda's partner in the programme, Queensgate Resources.

Results from the latest exploration included 0.140 g/t Au across 70.1 metres, containing a section of 0.392 g/t Au across 3.1 metres.

The firm claimed that the results are "significant" as they are similar to gold mineralisation found in the Carlin trend.

Historic drilling in this area provided figures of up to 0.754 g/t Au across 26 metres, the company noted.

Anaylsis was carried out on the new samples by fire assay, conducted by ALS Chemex Laboratories of Sparks, Nevada. Future drilling project preparation will be assisted by the new results.

Meanwhile, magnetic and gravity surveys recently carried out by Mexivada on its Goldstorm property discovered several Carlin-style gold deposits.
