Jewels of India show held in Bangalore next monthThursday, 25th September 2008 (1226 views) Designers and merchants are gearing themselves up for the tenth Jewels of India exhibition, to be held in Bangalore next month.Gold jewellery from around the country will be on show for the city's residents, including bridal collections - giving families the opportunity to buy presents in preparation for the upcoming wedding season. Actresses Minal Patil and Jaya Prada have been lined up as representatives of the event. "From reel to real life I have been fortunate to have been intricately associated with jewellery being associated with the Jewels of India show is indeed a privilege," remarked Ms Prada. The organisers have strived to ensure goods of the highest quality are featured in the exhibition. India is the world's largest gold consumer and accounts for around 30 per cent of global demand. Prices do not affect the country's "love affair" with the precious metal, particularly in the festive season, according to news portal AFP.
