Amador Gold has revealed that it has made a "significant" gold discovery on its Loveland project in Ontario.

Drilling designed to expand the Cominco zone came across the mineralisation at the site, which is 35km north-east of Timmins.

One hole intersected an area of 6.37 g/t Au over 8.55 metres.

Additional exploration provided figures of 6.17 g/t Au over three metres and 10.39 g/t over 3.1 metres.

The firm stated that "interpretation of this new gold zone is preliminary and more drilling will be required to determine the true width, dip, strike and plunge extents".

An evaluation is currently being conducted by company geologists to determine whether to deepen the holes in order to further intersect the gold mineralisation.

Meanwhile, Canadian-based Roxmark Mines has announced that its joint partner Premier Gold Mines has more than doubled minimum exploration expenditures that it committed to in 2007.
