Orsu Metals has announced an update on its Varvarinskoye mine in Kazakhstan.

The company revealed that the site has produced 820kg of gold since operations commenced.

It stated that the plant has "seen significant increases in throughput" and is working at 80 per cent capacity.

Over 280,000 tonnes of material have been processed at the mine, it added.

Boosting productivity at the location has been Orsu's main focus since June when the company was first formed.

The firm is set to make improvements to equipment after recommendations from a mining consultancy.

Chief operations officer Randy Reichert remarked: "The low cost project upgrade is expected to significantly increase throughput of the grinding circuits."

Recently, Lydian International revealed that its Amulsar gold prospect in Armenia is continuing to make progress.

Results from this site included 1.4 g/t gold across 92 metres, 1.1 g/t gold across 109 metres and 1.1 g/t gold across 72 metres.
