Trelawney Resources has revealed that a mechanical stripping programme on its Dorset gold project in Ontario has been "hugely successful".

The work was conducted in order to expose surface mineralisation on the B zone of the project, located around 150 metres south-east of the main area.

After a recent estimate on the B zone provided an inferred resource of 40,000 ounces of gold, more than 125 grab samples were collected from the surface and analysed.

Assay results are pending but president Wayne O'Connor stated that he is positive about the future of the project.

"We are one of the fortunate junior exploration companies to have an actual gold resource on our property ... and we feel that we can add significantly to this amount," he remarked.

Earlier this month, Adventure Gold announced that it had made a "significant" gold discovery on the Beaufor North project in Quebec.
