High-grade gold encountered at Mountain TopThursday, 9th October 2008 (227 views) AuEx Ventures has revealed that new results from the Mountain Top target area of the West Pequop Venture project have confirmed the presence of high-grade gold.Its partner, Agnigo-Eagle, conducted the exploration work at the site, located in Elko County, Nevada. Gold assays were carried out on samples from 11 core holes - figures included 8.7 g/t Au over 18.8 metres, 13.9 g/t Au over 7.3 metres and 3.9 g/t Au over two metres. The results provide "evidence of the prospective nature" of the western range of the Pequop Mountains, AuEx stated. It added that it will continue efforts to identify other opportunities in the area. AuEx has a portfolio of gold projects in Nevada, as well as in Argentina and Spain. Meanwhile, the executive vice president of HuntMountain Resources, Matt Hughes, stated that he was "pleased with the consistency" of high-grade gold results from the La Josefina project in Santa Cruz, Argentina.
