Friday, 24th October 2008 (341 views)

Jinshan Gold Mines has announced the final results from the third phase of drilling at the Dadiangou gold project in Gansu Province, central China.

Highlights from the campaign include 3.4 g/t gold over 34 metres and 1.6 g/t gold over 24 metres.

The new results will be used to update the inferred resource level of the project, which currently stands at 26.3 million tonnes at 0.92 g/t gold for a total of 778,000 ounces.

Vice president of exploration Keith Patterson said that hole nine of the latest round of drilling had returned the best intersect from the project so far.

"We are excited to be working on a resource update which we anticipate before year end," he added.

China is emerging as a major player in the gold industry.

Recently, Goldrea entered into an agreement with Rushan Gold China to acquire 80 per cent of the Daye gold mine.
