Wednesday, 12th November 2008 (1029 views) Orezone Resources has announced that its Bombore Project in Burkina Faso is now the second largest gold resource in the West African country. The company has analysed results from a reverse-circulation core drilling campaign and revealed that indicated resources are 0.93Moz and inferred resources are 1.78Moz. According to Orezone, five zones in the Bombore area show resources occurring at surface to a depth of 100m. President of the company Pascal Marquis stated that there is "tremendous potential" at the site. "To date, we have been very successful in converting the inferred resources to the indicated category and the drilling results indicate that this trend should continue at depth," he remarked. Furthermore, Orezone added that Bombore Project is helped by its location next to a main highway with a low population density. A Canadian company, Orezone owns 5,600 sq m of properties in Niger and Burkina Faso, with the latter country situated between Ghana and Mali - the continent's second and third largest gold producing nations.
