Lydian International has announced that drilling in its Artavasdes prospect in Armenia has revealed further targets for exploration.

The company stated that step-out drilling at its Amulsar gold discovery have yielded strong results, which the company has combined with rock-chip geochemistry and geologic mapping to identify new areas for examination.

Seven reverse-circulation drill holes were completed by Lydian to the south and north-west of the Tigranes region, with 1.0 g/t gold discovered at 50m and 58m.

President and chief executive officer of Lydian Tim Coughlin stated that "further tonnage potential" was possible following the positive results.

"Gold intersections from drilling at the Erato prospect which is about 1.6km along the Amulsar ridge to the northwest of Tigranes, are also highly encouraging," he remarked.

Lydian International is a UK company that is currently focusing on mining in regions of Eastern Europe, such as the Western Balkans and the Caucasus areas.
