Wednesday, 21st January 2009 (846 views) NioGold Mining has reported the results of its 2008 diamond drilling programme at the Malartic gold camp in Quebec.The company has completed 67 holes on Abitibi region gold property for a total of 24,718 during 2008 and the majority of the drilling was conducted in the former Marban mine sector. According to NioGold, the drilling programme has returned more high-grade gold intersections at Marban, extended the mineralised system by 500m to the west and outlined three new zones with high-grade potential (the Wedge, Upper Wedge and HWUM zones). The firm has stated that it is "very pleased" with the results of the 2008 programme and is compiling the results for the remaining drill holes on the site. Based in Val d'Or, Quebec, NioGold Mining is a junior exploration company primarily focused on gold with its main properties located in the Malartic and Val-d'Or gold mining camps in the Abitibi region.
