Gold bike to go on displayThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 30th September 2009 (2931 views) A gold bike is to be one of the highlights of an upcoming UK exhibition. The Elle is a bespoke gold and diamond women's bicycle that is set to appear at the London Cycle Show between October 9th and 11th. Created by two-wheeler designer and manufacturer Enigma, the gold item is to form the centrepiece of the firm's display at the event, according to RoadCyclingUK. The frame of the bike is made from 18-karat gold as per the requirements of the owner who commissioned the piece. Attendees at the show may be in with a chance to walk away with some of the yellow metal themselves, as an 18-karat white gold diamond solitaire pendant and coloured collar will be up for grabs. The jewellery has been designed by Nicholas James, who worked with the company on producing the bicycle. If the bike inspires women who visit the exhibition, they may be interested in the show's Cyclodelic Girls Guide to Cycling, which will unite biking experts and fashionistas to promote female-friendly cycling.
